AARP

AARP is America’s largest nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to empowering people to choose how they live as they age. The goal of AARP is to help their nearly 38 million members and their families “turn their goals and dreams into real possibilities, strengthen communities and fight for the issues that matter most.” Since this company is so focused on ensuring that their members have access to healthcare, financial security and personal fulfillment, they also offer all of these benefits to their employees. They offer everyone the opportunity to select the benefits that suit you (and your family) best including- medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending account, and legal services.

It’s no wonder then that they’ve been awarded a kununu score of 3.98 and a recommendation rate of 97%! Employees say that AARP is a “good social mission organization with resources to implement plans” and that they offer an excellent total compensation/benefits package.” In the eyes of one employee this is a great organization to work for, there’s room to grow, benefits are excellent, and overall culture is pleasant. So, if you’re interested in advocating for the 50+ and working for a non-profit, this could be the place for you!

Adventist Health

Adventist Health is a not-for-profit health care organization of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Its headquarters are in Roseville, California. In 2018 it had 19 hospitals in CaliforniaHawaiiOregon, and Washington.  With a 3.86 score on kununu and a recommendation rate of 82%, we can see why Adventist made it to our list.

One common characteristic of working at Adventist Health was the open mindedness of the company. Working in healthcare is no easy feat, and employees found themselves in an open and good environment. One employee says, “I had a very mind opening and positive experience with this company I personally enjoyed my time with them.” Good compensation seemed to be a talking point for employees, who said they got paid well and also felt really good about the work they do at Adventist health. Having well paid and satisfied employees who are happy with their work, of course, is something worth praising. What about employees who are still in the midst of their education? That too, is no problem since employees mentioned that they were able to continue and complete their education swimmingly while still employed at Adventist. Maybe Adventist will be your new workplace in 2020.

Allina Health

Allina’s new name is designed to reflect a new mission that shifts the emphasis away from places that people go when they are sick and onto disease prevention and personal vitality.

With a pretty impressive resume of work, Alina health is clearly a front runner in the industry. On kununu, they have a score of 3.97 and a recommendation of 85%, which is not too shabby in our book.
