1. Massachusetts General Hospital

Coming in at number 1 in our ranking with an impressive kununu score of 4.29 is Massachussetts General Hospital! This hospital is the original and largest training hospital belonging to Harvard Medical School and is consistently ranked as one of the best hospitals in the country by U.S. News and World Report. And it’s not just high standards of medicine that they offer here. Employees also love working here, as they say on the anonymous employer review platform kununu: “It is a very integrated place. There are many jobs available in different areas. They treat everyone fairly,” “it’s a positive work environment with opportunity for advancement and growth” and “our workplace is a state of the art, new building. We are treated and paid well.” What more could you ask for?

2. Mayo Clinic

Coming in close second on our ranking is the Mayo Clinic, with a kununu score of 4.24 and a recommendation rate of 90%! This non-profit academic medical center based in Rochester, Minnesota, focuses on integrated clinical practice, education, and research. Around 4,500 physicians and scientists, and 58,400 administrative and allied health staff are employed here, yet employees love the “collaborative, kind, tight-knit community of various levels of healthcare workers,” the fact that they feel “respected as a valuable member of the team” and that “everyone is friendly and there are great benefits!” Sounds like a dream, right?

3. Samaritan Health Service

In third place is the Samaritan Health Service, also with a kununu score of 4.24. This not-for-profit network of hospitals, clinics and health services, which serves the mid-Willamette Valley and central Oregon Coast, has a recommendation rate of 86%, meaning that 86% of the employees would recommend Samaritan Health Service as an employer to their family and friends. So, what is it about Samaritan Health Service that employees love most? Well, they rate it for being a “great working environment that I take pride in every day,” the fact that it’s a “positive, rewarding and challenging,” place to work and that there are “competitive wages and supportive managers.” So, if you’re a health care professional working in the mid- Willamette Valley or central Oregon coast, we have two words for you: apply now!

4. University of Utah Health Center

The University of Utah Health Center has a respectable kununu score of 4.22 and a recommendation rate of 100%! Wondering why our number four has exactly the same score as number three? That’s because the kununu Score is always rounded up to four decimal places. Anyway, as the Mountain West’s only academic health care system, the University of Utah Health System consists of 5 hospitals, 12 community clinics and a number of specialty centers. In all, the system provides care for Utahns and residents of five surrounding states in a referral area encompassing more than 10 percent of the continental United States! 5. Boston Children’s Hospital

Number 5 in our list, this 415-licensed-bed children’s hospital has a kununu score of 4.21 and recommendation rate of 92% and is ranked #1 pediatric hospital in the country by U.S. News and World Report. 6. Avera

Next up on our list is Avera with a kununu score of 4.19. This regional health care system operates out of Sioux Falls, with 300 health care, senior care and health service locations in 100 communities across South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska and North Dakota. Employees say they enjoy working here because it’s a “fantastic opportunity with fair pay and good benefits”, their job “keeps me challenged” and it has been a “very positive” experience. So if you’re a healthcare professional based in South Dakota, Minnesota, Iowa, Nebraska or North Dakota, this could be just the healthcare employer for you.

7. Wakemed

Next up on our list is Wakemed, a healthcare provider for Wake County, based in Raleigh, North Carolina. What makes Wakemed special is that is also boasts the only ER in the County dedicated to kids! With a kununu score of 4.18 and a 90% recommendation rate, it’s easy to see why it makes our list, and the employee reviews really seal the deal. Employees say that they “had a great experience working here” because “the management really looks out for their employees”, “the people are so nice and the benefits are amazing” and they really feel that “friendly folks with the patient and family are at the heart of what we do.”

8. The University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital

This internationally renowned health system is part of the public University of Alabama in Birmingham and takes 8thplace on our list. Employees have given it a kununu score of 4.17, because “it has been very rewarding,” and working or studying here means that you can “gain great experience, attend a world-class university, meet a diverse group of people” and get “great benefits and fair pay.” That sounds pretty good to us!

9. The University of Rochester Medical Center

The University of Rochester Medical Center is located in Rochester, New York. The cool thing about this Medical Center is that it’s one of the main campuses belonging to the University of Rochester and it comprises the university’s primary medical education, research and patient care facilities. It takes place number 9 in our list for it’s respectable kununu score of 4.17 and the number of glowing reviews from employees on our site. Amongst these, employees have said, “I was proud to work for the University of Rochester Medical Center because it is a very well-known medical facility,” it’s “a great place to work, the environment is friendly and inviting and everyone is a pleasure to work with.” And finally, “our management team is receptive to ideas we have that make our jobs go smoother and make patient care better.”

10. UNC Healthcare

Last, but by no means least, we have UNC Healthcare, a not-for-profit healthcare system owned by the state of North Carolina. Based in Chapel Hill, UNC Healthcare actually comprises of a number of locations dedicated to patient care throughout….  Employees rate it 4.13 on our site, and have written a number of great reviews that talk about the fact that UNC Healthcare offers “competitive pay and plenty of opportunities to move up the career ladder” combined with “a laid back environment in the clinics.
