Despite its youth, Penguin Random House LLC has over 10,000 employees who give the company a rating of 3.7 stars. Penguin Random House was formed in 2013 when Random House merged with Penguin Group.

Since 1981, Bloomberg LP has been working to create a positive company culture and high employee engagement for it’s over 10,000 employees. Their efforts are working; their employees’ reviews were overall positive enough to land Bloomberg LP at #6 in the industry.

1105 Media is somewhat new to the scene, especially compared to larger media companies on this list. Although ABC News is a well-established company, it’s almost 100 years newer than the Chicago Tribune. Founded in 1945, ABC News has between 1,000 and 5,000 employees today, a number of whom describe their experience at ABC News using words like creative, fun, and fast-paced. Additionally, most employees mentioned that what they love most is working with intelligent people.

Established in 1996, Fox News Network has between 1,000 and 5,000 employees today. According to its employee ratings, eight weeks of paid maternity leave along with an additional eight weeks of unpaid maternity leave are among the favorite benefits at Fox News. Employees also cite great benefits overall and a challenging work environment as reasons for recommending the company to others.

Less than 10 years old, vecteezy is a small team with fewer than ten employees today. But even with a small team, the company apparently does very well as an employer – their employees illustrate their satisfaction through a 4.66 star rating on kununu and a remarkable 100% of employees who reviewed vecteezy on kununu would recommend working there. Although most employees work remotely, they say they feel as if they’re a part of a team.

This company lands at the top of our list due to a 4.85 star rating from its current and former team members, which is pretty impressive given that there are 18 different categories of work-life that kununu assesses.

For this top 10 list, we took the top 10 U.S. companies within the broadcast media / media production industry with the highest overall kununu score as of 2017. All employee reviews collected since the launch of the U.S. kununu platform (in 2016) factor into the kununu scores in this list. A kununu score is a star rating between 0 and 5 and it is an average rating derived from how kununu reviewers rated 18 different workplace factors at that particular company.  These workplace factors include “company culture”, “work-life balance”, “support from management”, “gender equality”, “job security”, “career development” and more.
