This would sound ridiculous to our parents, but it is very common for the Generation Y. People who are in their 50s today can name around 5 to 6 positions they held within the last 30 years (that’s including school years part-time jobs).

Even though most employers have already made their peace with the fact that millennials change jobs frequently, having a huge record of such changes is never good. Employers might feel that you are not trustworthy, they cannot rely on you, as you can simply take off any minute.

Be ready to experiment.
There is nothing wrong about the desire to try something new. So, one more thing to consider when looking for new opportunities is changing the area you are currently working in.
Our parents, educators, and employers mean well when they try to convince you that you are only successful when you have a stable 9 to 5 job that brings you steady income. They might also say that there are those lucky people that enjoy the privilege of loving their jobs, but it should not be your requirement.
Well, it’s time you stopped listening to them. You have all the rights to pursue the goals you have in mind even if it means that you will have to change several jobs to find something you will find meaningful and satisfactory.
You will have to spend at least 40 hours a week, 160 hours a month (maybe more) in the office. So, why not doing something you will genuinely love during this time?

Always leave a job on good terms.
Leaving a job on good terms is not only about getting fantastic recommendation letters or references (though these are among the primary motives).
Besides, you will need to mention the name of your previous employer on the resume even if you do not add a recommendation letter (missing this point will look suspiciously). So, it is better if when they call your former boss, he will have something good to say about you and will be able to state that you left because you were looking for better opportunities, not because you could not fit in the team.
