Florida Medical Clinic is the place to work for in September

At Florida Medical Clinic a team of compassionate and experienced physicians offer a comprehensive range of healthcare services, including cardiology, gastroenterology, sports medicine, plastic surgery, and beyond. It sounds like a great one-stop-shop, right? It’s also a great, diverse place to work with lots of challenges. Here at kununu, one of the world’s largest employer rating platforms, Florida Medical Clinicnot only ranks highly with a score of 3.83 points (out of 5), but is also described as a good company to work for. Physicians and surgeons highly appreciate their stable, high volume workplace and the flexibility in schedule – putting it briefly like one of our users: “Not much drama.” This is probably because of the great teamwork at Florida Medical Clinic as one employee in Zephyrhills tells “I enjoy the co workers that I work with on a daily basis. They are like family.” and another in Land O’ Lakes “You meet some amazing people and build friendships.”

Apart from their coworkers, current and former employees value the good trainings on different systems you get and that you learn new things everyday. And, one of the biggest reasons why Florida Medical Clinic is our Employer of the Month, is that they offer outstanding perks and benefits for all employees“I like the extra health benefits and incentives and the fact they show appreciation by giving a Christmas Bonus,” states one employee, another tells us that “The incentives are a nice motivation for working at this company.” But benefits and bonus are not the only way employees are motivated at this extraordinary hospital: “Working with diverse personalities and with patients give me the chance to perfect my customer service skills. I am encouraged to give ideas on how to make the clinic more efficient, and am made to feel that contributions are welcomed.”

What more do you need? They sound like a dream employer, right?! Here’s Melissa Hruska, Recruitment Supervisor to tell you what she thinks makes Florida Medical Clinic special as an employer.

What are you doing to attract talent?

Melissa Hruska: We utilize several different recruitment strategies beyond your normal job boards.  We work extensively with area schools not only for our externship programs, but for permanent positions as well in the areas of medical assisting, surgical technicians, nurse practitioners and physician assistants.  We also offer a great referral bonus program for our existing employees.  As we know the popularity of texting these days, we are also rolling out a TextRecruit App in the next few weeks  through our partnership with Monster, which will enable potential candidates to text a code to “FMCjobs” to inquire about open positions, making it more convenient than ever to explore career opportunities with FMC!

In your opinion, why should someone apply for a job at your company?

Melissa Hruska: We have established ourselves as the premier outpatient clinic in the Tampa Bay area, having been here for over 25 years. We have a wonderful reputation in the community. We have over 350 providers and offer care in 30 different specialties, making for an unparalleled patient experience. I believe our employees are proud to be a part of this organization. And, because most of our clinics operate Monday-Friday from 8:00AM-5:00PM, we can offer a better quality of life and work/life balance for our employees vs. those in the hospital system. No evenings/weekends!

Are there special perks that you offer that positively impacts on your team’s morale?

Melissa Hruska: We offer great benefits and we have a comprehensive Wellness program where employees can earn Wellness points for doing step challenges, participating in various webinars, etc.  These points can then be used  for discounts on their health premiums.  We also partner with several different companies in the community to offer discounts for our employees (i.e. daycares/car dealerships/salons/apartment complexes, etc.)
