Aurora Health Care Metro, Inc. 

Aurora Health Care is a not-for-profit health care system headquartered in Milwaukee which serves eastern Wisconsin. It’s also a teaching affiliate of the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. The system has 15 hospitals, more than 150 clinics, and 70 pharmacies. With 32,000 employees, including 1,800 employed physicians, it’s Wisconsin’s largest home care organization. Since its formation in 1984, Aurora Health Care has created partnerships with independent community hospitals and affiliations with physician organizations and built new hospitals and medical centers.

Aurora Health Care has landed third place on this list because it offers a number of great benefits to its employees. Fairview General Hospital is a 488-bed hospital located in the west of Cleveland, overlooking the Cleveland Metroparks. The hospital has served the community for more than 110 years, offering a full range of services and physicians and is now ranked in third place among Cleveland-area hospitals and is the 4th best hospital in Ohio, according to U.S. News & World Report’s “2019-20 Best Hospitals.”

The Deaconess Health System in Southern Indiana is made up of 6 hospitals and the system, as a whole, provides healthcare services to three states and 26 counties. The seven hospitals include: Deaconess Midtown Hospital, Deaconess Gateway Hospital, The Women’s Hospital, The Heart Hospital, The Orthopedic and Neuroscience Hospital, Deaconess Cross Pointe, and HealthSouth Deaconess Rehabilitation Hospital. The health system also includes Deaconess Clinic, a freestanding Cancer Center, Urgent Care facilities, trauma centers, a network of hospitals and doctors, more than 20 care sites, and multiple partnerships with other community health care providers. With so many sites and around 6,000 healthcare professionals currently employed by the system, it’s the largest employer in southwest Indiana.

With all of these great benefits, it’s easy to see why employees rate their employer so highly on kununu.  Deaconess Health System currently has a kununu score of 4.12 and one employee loves it so much that they told us that it’s a “great place to work with friendly people, great hours, great benefits and a management who listens and cares and serves the community” and another praised their employer for its “good benefits and compensation.” And, if that wasn’t enough, one employee even said that they “experienced a head concussion that came with everyday migraines. I was off work for a month and a half. This happened just a little after my one year anniversary on the job. Every single day I had messages from my coworkers telling me that they missed me and wishing me well!
