Company Perks: Who’s got the best?•
When you think ‘work’? What comes to mind? A set of cubicles, some old desktops, that sinking feeling you seem to only get on Sunday nights? Yeah, it’s tough out there. But, there are a handful of companies putting a lot of effort into making it easier for you to get up and love going to work in the morning. At first glance, you might have to rub your eyes a few times, but once you’re done doing that, it’s hard not to look away. As more and more companies realize the importance of balancing work with life, they are investing in perks and benefits that try to make the, on average 47 hours a week, at work, feel a little less …blah… Check out a few of the companies offering some stellar perks to their employees.
This tech giant has got it going on when it comes to bonuses in the office. Employees are constantly gushing over the multiple amenities offered to everyone from the summer interns on up the ladder. Just to name a few: free gourmet snacks and meals (such as lavender pecan cornbread, edamame snacks, banana chips, and little squares of Tcho dark chocolate), wi-fi equipped private buses, massage credits and, of course, dogs are welcome any time.
A company that leans on its reputation of awesome customer service, provides the same to its employees. The perks are as numerous as their outgoing packages, with things like on-site wellness services, free food at all times of day, plenty of ‘nap rooms’ and a monthly company outing.
At this energy drink company, employees continue to be given wings on a daily basis. With a benefits package matching top companies around the US, they include insurance for your pets, huge discounts to trendy outdoor brands like Oakley, and reimbursements for food and other office needs if you buy them while on the clock. Oh and of course, a free case of Red Bull every month.
AirBnBers could travel the world and still not find perks like the ones offered at their company. With benefits like $2,000 stipends for every employee to travel wherever they want, to company yoga, sailing and ping pong days; it’s hard to imagine ever wanting to leave.
Employees don’t have to search long for Yahoo’s benefits; they offer a broad variety, inside and outside of the office. Their offices all contain on-site fitness centers offering complimentary kickboxing, pilates and golf classes. If you’re not into working out all the time, why not relax? All Yahoo offices are also equipped with ergonomic support chairs and free healthy snacks and drinks on every floor.
What about your office?
While, it sounds like a blast working at all these companies, we would love to hear about your office’s perks. Maybe your office isn’t a Google campus, but it throws killer Thirsty Thursday bashes?
